MUTAG supplied support in plant design as well as the Mutag BioChip™ carrier media for the lntegrated Fixed Film Activated Sludge (IFAS) process within the scope of the retrofitting measure at the biological sewage treatment plant "oberes Surbtal" in Switzerland, which has been performed in 2012 and 2013.
The plant is designed for a hydraulic flow rate of 650 m3/h, corresponding to 15,600 m3/d. Approx. 20,750 PE values are being treated in this WWTP.
The biological sewage treatment plant has been operated until today whereas the discharge quality requirements of the plant inclusive of the IFAS stage operated with Mutag BioChip™ carriers have been safely attained at any time since the retrofitting until today. The plant is running without any defaults and/or any problems.
